It's so fun shooting family!
This is my friend Jen, we grew up together, so she is basically my family. Her children are my godchildren. It's all love around here. So when she asked if we could meet in Johns Creek at Perimeter Church to shoot some family photos, of course I said YES! The kids are older, Aviana is in college, and Chris is getting close to high school graduation. Sometimes photos can be difficult for families with older kids - after all, you can't hold them in your arms anymore or swing them around. I think we made the most of it, and we had fun along the way!
The Setting...
As you can see, the church property is like a park! So many different beautiful settings to take pictures in, but my favorite was this little outdoor chapel. We got all the family photos, but also got some individual ones as well. My god children are basically models you guys! :D
Always having fun...
But my favorite part of the shoot is the time together having fun! Jen loves to close her eyes in pictures (always has since we were kids), so I made sure to get some candids where this wasn't really a factor! The kids giving Jen a kiss on the cheek is probably one of my favorites of the group. She lights up with joy! The family laughing together is another of my favorites! But then we get to the good stuff. This picture of Jen alone sums up her entire personality in one picture - laid back just loving life! I added in a good old serious prom pose for fun and this little gem of the face that Jen made that resulted in the laughing picture that I love.
